The Veterans Volunteer Service (VVS) is a dedicated organization of former servicemen and women committed to continuing the noble ideals of service, discipline, and patriotism beyond the uniform.
Founded on the belief that veterans remain invaluable assets to society, VVS provides a platform for channeling their wealth of experience, leadership and skills into meaningful national and community development.

Barr. David Biel
Barr David Biel is a decorated Nigerian Army veteran with 35 years of distinguished service. He was awarded the Soldiers Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal by the then Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen OA Azazi. A seasoned detective, security and safety consultant, Barr Biel has received specialized training from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, Yaba College of Technology (Lagos), Nigerian Army School of Military Police (Zaria), Institute of Security and Forensic Studies (Abuja), and the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science (Abuja).
Dr. Dahiru Daniel Ada
Daniel Dahiru Ada, Fss, Mss, PhD is a distinguished Nigerian Air Force veteran with decades of exemplary military service. During his military career, he served in key leadership roles including Sector Commander and Base Defence Patrol Commander. An academically accomplished professional, Dr. Ada holds a PhD in Agriculture and Biotechnology Education, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and an Advanced Professional Diploma in Occupational Security, Health, Environment, and Safety Management.
Hamza Ahmed
Mr. Hamza Ahmed is a highly accomplished security professional and military veteran with 35 years of distinguished service in the Nigerian Army. Mr. Ahmed received extensive professional training from elite institutions, including the Nigerian Army School of Military Police and the Police Detective College Enugu. In the field of executive protection, Mr. Ahmed is an Advanced Special VIP Protection Specialist, having undergone specialized training at the Jamahiriya Military Academy, Tripoli.

MS. MORENIKE GRACE HENRY (JP)
Veteran (Ms.) Morenike Grace Henry (JP) is the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion. She has worked extensively within the veteran and humanitarian communities, having previously served as the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Nigerian Legion National Headquarters. She pioneered the formation of the Female Military Veterans Association in Nigeria and was also instrumental in fostering partnerships between the Nigerian Legion and international veteran organisations in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.
PROF. JACOB SHIMRUMUN IORAA
Veteran (Prof.) Jacob Shimrumun Ioraa is a distinguished Professor of Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Maiduguri, where he served two terms as Head of the Department of Theatre Arts. He is the author of several academic works, including the acclaimed Aesthetics of Contemporary Video Films and Television Drama. His research contributions span numerous reputable journals, with significant impact both within Nigeria and across the international academic community.
AKINDUTIRE A. FRANCIS PhD
Veteran Adeshina F. Akindutire, PhD, lectures in Sociology at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Nigeria. Trained at the University of Ibadan, he focuses on criminology, security studies, and military sociology. He has co authored four textbooks, including Crime and Delinquency and The Military in Developing Nations: A Sociological Approach. He publishes widely in journals, with research on crime control, security governance, and military institutions in developing societies. His work informs policy and practice across sectors.
AMB. (DR) SAAD UMAR FARUK
Veteran Ambassador Dr. Saad Umar Faruk, popularly known as Digital White, is a distinguished leader in disaster management and professional development. He serves as Provost of CISR Nigeria and President of the ADTN College of Fellows. He is also Director of Veterans Training at the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science, Nigeria. Dr. Faruk holds multiple international fellowships and certifications, reflecting his expertise, leadership, and commitment to national and global capacity building.
Milestones & History
Organisation Founded
VVS Nigeria was established in Abuja with HQ at Makurdi, Benue State.
CAC Registration
Officially registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation under the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria.
First National Veterans Summit
Hosted the inaugural National Veterans Summit in Abuja, bringing together over 50 veterans from 20 states.
Nationwide Expansion
Expanded operations to all 36 states and the FCT, establishing state coordinators and local chapters.
Federal Recognition
Received formal recognition from the Federal Ministry of Defence for outstanding contributions to veteran welfare and national development.
